
The Norwegian Senior Citizens Association provides a wide range of unique benefits, special products, and services for its members. Among them the bimonthly magazine “Senior”, a monthly Internet based Newsletter, the homepage www.seniorsaken.no, free legal counseling, and a 24 hour free helpline, named “SOS-telefonen”. Members have the right to ask for personal advice for problems related to work, health, economy and welfare. The Norwegian Senior Citizens Association is a powerful lobbying group highly influential in politics and media.
The Norwegian Senior Citizens Association was founded May 21th 2002 as a grassroots movement which attracted people from all walks of life. As of January 2010 there are approximately 20 000 members and more than 20 local branches.
Chairperson (since 2006) is Harry Martin Svabø MD, CEO is Tore Henning Larsen, Chief of information is Dag Bredal and legal counselor is Audhild Freberg Iversen. In addition the staff consists of an accounting department, and a large number of volunteers.
